Ragtime Annie

Ragtime Annie is a standard session tune across both Bluegrass and Celtic traditions. As well as being a lovely tune to play, it’s an excellent vehicle for working on proper pick direction on the mandolin. Several phrases in the tune clearly highlight whether you’re able to stick to the simple rule: “Down on the beat, up off the beat.” We’ll work through the A and B parts first, focusing on pick direction, and then finish with a full play-through of the tune with some guitar accompaniment.
