How to Play Zadok the Priest

This is the famous 'Zadok the Priest' by George Friderick Handel in 1727. It is such a satisfying piece to play on the mandolin and I want to show you how to play the opening 44 bars (the bit before the choir kicks in). The main aim of this lesson is to try to play every note as cleanly as possible in your left hand to continue on the work we do in the corresponding Technique Lesson. We’ll work through the A and B parts first, focusing on left hand tone and then finish with a full play-through of the tune.
