This is a lesson for advanced mandolin players on how to play the standard Jazz song 'Fly Me to the Moon'. Originally written as a waltz by Bart Howard in 1954, it was shifted into 4/4 by Quincy Jones for the now famous Frank Sinatra version in 1964. We'll look at the melody and it's interesting syncopation compared to the easier melody. Then we'll discuss the chords and what some of the extra Jazz notes mean. As usual, we'll finish with a full jam through the song at the end of the video.
