This is Lesson 6 in a 12-part series on Proper Mandolin Technique and in this lesson, we’ll look at how to play Syncopation. This is where a large majority of our important melody notes fall Off the beat instead of On the beat. For us mandolin players with 'proper pick directions' that means a LOT more Up strokes than we are used to. So in this lesson we will try some exercises that get you used to playing lots of Up strokes instead of our usual Down stroke heavy melodies.
