Hello MandoMike subscriber! I hope you have had a nice relaxing Christmas period with lots of time spent on the mandolin. I have a bonus Free Lesson for you all to help bring in the new year, here is what's included:
Auld Lang Syne
This song is used to bring in the New Year in most English speaking countries, it is the words of a Robert Burns poem combined with a traditional Scottish tune. I thought I'd teach you how to play it in case you were required to provide the music for the stroke of midnight! The lesson is split into the usual 3 standards: Beginner players can just focus on learning the chords and the basic melody, Intermediate players can look at adding Double Stops and finally, Advanced players have a really tricky version to work on. The lesson worksheet can be downloaded here, and the corresponding video is here.
These lessons are completely free and I intend to try to keep them that way... but this is quite a time consuming exercise … if you are enjoying the lessons, please do consider making a donation to MandoMike via the link at the bottom of the homepage … or go and purchase my latest PDF workbook .
If you have any questions, or any problems with accessing the lessons or the videos, please just hit 'reply' on this email. For anyone new to the website, all previous Free Lessons are still available here :-)
Happy New Year! Mando Mike
