Hello fellow mandolin player, here we are with lesson #7 of the 'Free Monthly Lessons' published via www.mandomike.com, here are the lessons this month:
For the advanced lesson, I want to also show you 'Cumberland Gap' and build on the basic melody taught in the intermediate section. The lesson worksheet can be downloaded here and the corresponding video is here.
I had the pleasure this week of being invited to be a part of the Mandolin Mondays series run by the mandolin café and David Benedict. I chose to do a solo mandolin arrangement of a tune I wrote called 'The End of the World Waltz', I have written out 3 versions of the tune and if you'd like to learn it, the video and tabs are all here.
A few other important points before I finish: - These lessons are totally free and I intend to keep them that way... but this is quite a time consuming exercise for me so if you are enjoying the lessons, please do consider making a donation via the link at the bottom of the homepage
- If you have any questions about the material in the lessons, just hit 'reply' on this email and I will respond as quickly as I can.
- If you'll allow me a little bit of cross-promotion. My band - Jaywalkers - have a new CD out called 'Time to Save the World' and we're incredibly proud of it. If you haven't listened already, it's available on all of the usual streaming/download places or you can purchase a physical copy plus merch here.
- Thanks to those who filled in my 6 month survey, your responses were all positive and there were some very useful suggestions that I'll be implementing over the next few months. The survey is still live if you'd like to give me your feedback on how I can improve these lessons.
If you have any questions, or any problems with accessing the lessons or the videos, please just hit 'reply' on this email.
See you next month! Hope you enjoy the lesson :) Mando Mike
